Kanako OGISO, Sayuri TOIDA and Miyuki WATANABEclassified into categories based on their similarity.A descriptive name was appropriately assignedto each category. The researchers repeatedlydiscussed the classification and category names. Achart showing the relationships between categoriesand subcategories was then created.The researchers aimed to strengthen thestudy credibility by allocating sufficient time toanalyze the collected data following step-by-stepprocedures. They repeatedly discussed the resultsof the analysis until their views were unified whentheir opinions differed from each other?s. Finally,all the researchers agreed with the results.5. Ethical considerationsThe three hospitals were requested to participatein this study both verbally and in writing, and acertificate of consent was obtained from each ofthem. We also requested nurses? participation inthis study verbally and in writing, and a certificateof consent was obtained from each nurse. Weexplained the purpose and methods of the study,and also that participation was optional, that nurseswould incur no disadvantages in their businesseven if they declined to participate in the study,and that the study results would be published inacademic journals or similar publications. Thepresent study was approved by Medical ReviewBoard of Gifu University Graduate School ofMedicine(No.28-64).Ⅲ.Results1. Sample CharacteristicsThe nurses were all female (100.0%), withan average age of 47.3±5.0 years. Of the 6nurses (multiple answers were allowed), 6 wereregistered nurses (100.0%) and 3 were caremanagers (50.0%). Regarding the total years ofservice, 6 nurses (100%) had more than 10 yearsof experience. Regarding the time working asoutpatient nurses, 3 (50.0%, largest) had morethan 7 years of experience (Table 1).2. Regarding the current situation of andproblems with seamless care for elderly patientswith dementia home recuperationRegarding the current situation of and problemswith seamless care for elderly patients withdementia home recuperation, six categories wereextracted: (i) the role of an outpatient nurseaccording to the cognitive capacity of a patient,(ii) the practice of seamless care through multioccupationaldescription cooperation in thecommunity, (iii) home recuperation, (iv) careafter recognizing dementia, (v) improvement indementia care skills as a professional, and (vi) thecircumstances of a patient?s family (Table 2).1) The role of an outpatient nurse according tothe cognitive capacity of a patientFor elderly dementia patients, it is very importantto intentionally identify their various needs forliving in the community and to provide adequatenursing care in order to resolve the problems thatarise in relation with seamless care.
